Measuring Outcomes

Overview

At last, your patients are in the system and they are getting the care they need! One of your next steps is to build reporting, as an investment towards the next leg of your company’s growth journey.

This may include shining a light into understanding your customer journey, creating key metrics like your overall conversion, repeat customers, CAC, and time to purchase.

If you are clinically minded, you may also start considering how to utilize our system to ensure you are recording the appropriate clinical data to demonstrate that your solution holds clinical value.

Marketing Metrics

Depending on your tech stack, you may be utilizing a customer data platform (CDP) to help identify and tracking your user, pre-acquisition. You may read our walkthrough of our Freshpaint Integration, or our Segment Integration. However, you are not restricted to those tools as your CDP - as these solutions are typically using our external_id patient attribute, as described here.

Net, an integration with Capable will allow you to connect all the user-level data in Capable Health, to your marketing data from targeted ads and surveys, which may live outside Capable Health.

There are many tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, and others that specialize in handling marketing metrics and marketing automation. At Capable Health, our tech philosophy is to keep our number of tools to a minimum - so we choose to house all of your data (typically via a CDP) in our data warehouse. This enables us to expose analytics using our instance of Looker (which is HIPAA compliant and ensures data separation).

Clinical Metrics

Unless you are a trained biostatistician, the world of clinical evidence generation is likely one with a high barrier to entry. However, the best thing that Capable Health does to support our tenants is support major taxonomies like SNOMED, LOINC, ICD, and CPT/HCPCS.

📘

A strong example of the granularity available to Capable Health users is a diagnosis of early-onset Alzheimer’s.

In ICD10, which is the standard used for most diagnoses for the purposes of insurance reimbursement, the deepest level of granularity is simply early-onset Alzheimer’s.

If you were to utilize SNOMED, you would have the following additional options available:

  • Alzheimer disease due to mutation of amyloid precursor protein (disorder)
  • Alzheimer disease due to mutation of presenilin 1 (disorder)
  • Alzheimer disease due to mutation of presenilin 2 (disorder)

Like most EMRs, Capable Health supports any and all of these taxonomies. We also unify our data model so that when this data is at the size where population health analysis is important, everything will already be filed away correctly.

Looker BI Tool

Looker is a business intelligence tool similar to Tableau, where tables are loaded into the environment and many of the joins (linking between tables) and aggregations (computations like min, max, sum, counts, distinct counts) are pre-defined. Capable Health utilizes Looker because of its ability to integrate further with Google Cloud for data science use cases including forecasting, segmentations, and where relevant, ML / AI.

Early use cases for Capable Health customers are typically care path funnels to demonstrate that patients are successfully completing their health interventions.
